Try the no-sign-up exercise ↗SchoolRegistry Academy’s Virtual Assistant course is an eight-week online programme for beginners and career changers in Nigeria. First, students learn inbox and calendar organisation, confidentiality, clear updates and scheduling judgment. Second, students practise task coordination and dependencies using personal and assigned team boards. Third, tutor-reviewed assignments, revisions and a final support-work assessment create evidence for a private portfolio. The October 2026 cohort follows a daily study plan with Friday live practice. Certification requires the published completion rules, full tuition coverage and an 80% overall result. The programme does not promise employment, clients or income, and it is not certification for third-party software.
Ask academic questions in the lesson player. The assistant uses lesson context but does not answer assignments or grade your work.
Manage personal work and participate in assigned team tasks with columns, dependencies, comments and history.
Use tutor feedback, explain your changes and resubmit while the original and revised evidence remain available for review.
Your assessed portfolio is private by default. Sharing is optional and revocable. Available learning-media formats depend on the lesson; caption and low-bandwidth processing is still being completed across the library.
Build a habit of learning, applying, and improving. Each part of the week gives the next one a purpose.

What a VA actually does, the core tool stack, non-negotiable time-zone and confidentiality rules, and a full real-world morning managing a US executive's inbox and calendar.
Deeper Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 fluency, expense logging, travel booking, and clean document and meeting-note prep.
Onboarding a new client from scratch, building a voice profile fast, and supporting more than one executive without ever mixing up their voice or their confidential information.
The different rhythms and tools a founder, a real estate agent, a coach or consultant, and an e-commerce seller each expect from a VA.
Handling a genuine high-stakes scheduling collision for an executive and a real confidentiality gray area under time pressure.
Deep task-tracking fluency across Asana, Trello, and ClickUp, and building the weekly summary report a busy executive actually reads.
Sustaining a realistic week's full workload — multiple inboxes, competing deadlines, and the remote-work discipline of running on US hours.
Written exam, a graded inbox-triage simulation, and a practical task-board and reporting exercise — pass all three to certify.

More than you might expect. A real contract typically means delegated access to an executive's inbox and calendar, which means seeing financial figures, health appointments, and family matters that were never meant to be broadcast. Week 1 treats this directly, not as a footnote — confidentiality is one of only two things in this course with zero tolerance for a casual mistake.
No. Light expense logging comes up in Week 2 as one small piece of admin work, not as bookkeeping. If a client needs real accounting, that's a different role entirely — this track is about protecting an executive's time and attention, not managing their books.
You work around the executive's own day, not a fixed shift you pick yourself. The course's own working example, a Lagos-based VA supporting an Atlanta founder, logs on in her afternoon to catch his early morning Eastern Time. Week 1 also covers the mechanics in detail, since the continental US alone spans four time zones and getting this wrong is the single most common early mistake new VAs make.

No. The Academy develops and assesses skills. Employment depends on your performance, employer requirements, and available roles.
