Set up the requisition and the stages, and source against the must-haves, not the nice-to-haves.
The manager owns the decision; you own the process.
Do not record it, steer back to the questions on the sheet, and write the summary the recruiter acts on.
What you never ask, you never record.
Reschedule with confirmations to everyone, and update the ATS the same day.
The system of record reflects the truth by the end of the shift.
Decline with the written line, record the request, and route it.
Consent comes first. Always.

Try the no-sign-up exercise ↗SchoolRegistry Academy’s Recruiting & HR Coordinator course is a ten-week online programme for beginners and career changers in Nigeria, taught in two lanes: the US remote coordinator desk and the Nigerian HR officer desk. First, students learn who decides what in hiring, the intake brief, the funnel and the applicant tracking system. Second, students practise sourcing and screening against the brief, the structured phone screen, panel scheduling across time zones, offer packets, background-check consent, onboarding paperwork and employee files, on Keystone Talent, a fictional US staffing agency, and Adaora Foods, a fictional Lagos company. Third, tutor-reviewed assignments, a two-week practicum on both desks and a capstone create evidence of applied coordination judgment. Certification requires the published completion rules, full tuition coverage and an 80% overall result. The course does not promise employment, is not legal advice, and is not CIPM, SHRM or HRCI certification.
Ask academic questions in the lesson player. The assistant uses lesson context but does not answer assignments or grade your work.
Manage personal work and participate in assigned team tasks with columns, dependencies, comments and history.
Use tutor feedback, explain your changes and resubmit while the original and revised evidence remain available for review.
Your assessed portfolio is private by default. Sharing is optional and revocable. Available learning-media formats depend on the lesson; caption and low-bandwidth processing is still being completed across the library.
Build a habit of learning, applying, and improving. Each part of the week gives the next one a purpose.

From the foundations to your final practical assessment, each stage builds on the last.
Module quizzes check understanding before you move forward. The final assessment includes written and practical work, then two practicum weeks on the job simulator.
Who decides what; the requisition and the intake brief; the funnel and its four numbers; the applicant tracking system; protected characteristics and the questions you never ask; consent and identity documents; the ten written lines; HR work in Nigeria and CIPM.

Scheduling across US time zones; panel interviews; reschedules and no-shows; the intake meeting; the weekly pipeline update; feedback the same day; interview kits and scorecards; accommodation requests; interviews in Nigeria; the Labour Act basics you recognise.

Day one, week one, month one; equipment and access; the 30-day check-in; the employee file and who may see it; changes and the paperwork trail; leave records; the HRIS; the handbook; complaints you receive and route; offboarding; HR records and payroll inputs in Nigeria.
Equal opportunity every day; reasonable accommodation; the questions that must not be asked; recordkeeping; where data leaks; requests for information; a breach; being asked to post a fake role or skip consent; fraud signs; fair hiring and data protection in Nigeria.
A weekly rhythm for eight open roles; priorities; reporting up; the tools of the trade including AI screening tools and what the law asks of employers who use them; mock questions; the capstone; what "certified" means in HR; your profile in two lanes; the first thirty days on a real desk.
Timed shifts on both desks: Keystone's pipeline moves, Adaora Foods' managing director sends a referral, a scorecard goes missing, a candidate goes quiet after accepting, and the system of record must reflect the truth by the end of each shift.
More shifts including a request that must be refused with the script and the record, a complaint that must be routed and never discussed, an onboarding week with a missing document, and a tutor-marked capstone. Passing needs zero critical errors.

Recruiting & HR Coordinator Certificate
The SchoolRegistry Academy certificate is assessed through knowledge and practical tasks—not simply time spent watching lessons.
Issued by SchoolRegistry Academy. This is not a third-party accreditation or a guarantee of employment.
A computer, headset, reliable internet, and a quiet place to practice will help you participate. Check the live-session schedule before enrolling.
Future US-client work may involve afternoon or evening hours in Nigeria.
Roles this training prepares you to pursue. Start with the work you want to do, then build the skills to demonstrate it.
Keep a recruiter's pipeline honest, candidates informed and interviews scheduled across time zones.
Screens, scheduling, offer packets and the weekly pipeline update.
Run hiring and HR administration for a Lagos company: contracts, confirmations, leave records and payroll inputs.
The Adaora Foods desk, the Labour Act basics and the onboarding file.
Support an HR manager with files, onboarding, records and the requests that must be routed.
The employee file, the HRIS and the complaint you route but never investigate.
Employers may require a specific ATS, CIPM membership in Nigeria, or an HRCI or SHRM credential in the US. This is a foundation for coordination and HR administration; it is not legal, payroll or compensation advice. Employment is not guaranteed; role titles and hiring requirements vary by employer.
The shared Career Readiness course covers your LinkedIn profile, résumé, interview practice, and getting paid as an international remote contractor. Describe practice honestly as training—not employment.
The SchoolRegistry Academy certificate proves you did the work: the ten weeks, a supervised practicum on both desks and a capstone with zero critical errors, verifiable by any employer on our public verification page.
In Nigeria the professional body is CIPM, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, whose membership and examinations many Lagos employers look for. In the US, HRCI's aPHR is the entry-level HR credential and SHRM-CP the practitioner one. Week 1 and Week 8 explain what each is, what it costs and what it tests, so you can plan the next step with your own work as preparation.
Together they answer the two questions a hiring manager asks: can you do the work (our certificate, assessed), and does the profession recognise you (CIPM, aPHR or SHRM-CP). One proves the skill; the other proves the standing.
CIPM, HRCI and SHRM credentials are issued and governed by those bodies, not by SchoolRegistry Academy, and each carries its own fees and eligibility rules. We prepare you and explain the process; the bodies award the credential.

Both, and it says which is which in every lesson. The US lane trains you as a remote recruiting coordinator for a US employer or agency; the Nigerian lane trains you as an HR or recruitment officer in a Lagos company. Rules are taught for the country they apply to, never blended.

No. The hiring manager owns the decision, the recruiter runs the search, and the coordinator keeps the process honest and the paperwork right. The course is strict about the lines: you never decide an adverse finding, you never classify a worker as employee or contractor, and you never investigate a complaint.
