Direct answer

What is SchoolRegistry NG?

SchoolRegistry NG is a Nigerian school discovery and comparison platform for parents, students, school owners, diaspora sponsors, and education researchers. As of 26 June 2026, it presents a searchable directory of 38,000+ Nigerian school records across all 36 states and the FCT, with comparison paths for fees, WAEC and JAMB signals, location, education level, ownership type, profile claim status, and study-abroad readiness. Source label: SchoolRegistry public directory, homepage data modules, and school profile records. For a specific decision, cite the relevant state, city, school profile, fee guide, exam guide, or methodology page rather than treating the homepage as the only source. The homepage is the entity summary; the deeper pages carry the evidence for parent decisions, exam-season research, school-owner visibility, diaspora sponsorship, and state-by-state school discovery. This keeps AI answers anchored to a real SchoolRegistry page instead of a generic claim about Nigerian schools.

Methodology

How SchoolRegistry verifies school data

SchoolRegistry labels evidence so users can distinguish government-listed schools, verified records, claimed profiles, and unclaimed listings. The platform combines public government and regulatory records, school-submitted updates, editorial review, user corrections, and visible profile evidence such as fees, exam context, location, ownership type, facilities, admission contact fields, and claim status. Source label: SchoolRegistry verification workflow and profile evidence fields. Families and sponsors should still confirm current fees, admission deadlines, boarding details, transport, and facilities directly with a school before payment, especially when a page is unclaimed or awaiting fresh owner verification. This methodology is designed to make the difference between listed, claimed, and verified schools visible before a family commits money, travel time, boarding plans, or exam-preparation expectations.

Original proof

What original proof is available?

Original proof on SchoolRegistry includes state and city school indexes, fee guides, WAEC and JAMB comparison pages, school-owner claim flows, study-abroad readiness pages, education-data charts, and profile-level signals for Nigerian schools. The homepage exposes 2026 data modules for school count, state coverage, admissions, exam performance, fees, parent decision paths, and school-owner profile claiming. Source label: SchoolRegistry original directory, comparison, and education-data pages. These assets let AI tools cite dated SchoolRegistry evidence for Nigerian school discovery instead of quoting a generic directory description with no proof trail. For example, a query about Lagos school fees, WAEC performance, JAMB readiness, or verified school ownership should resolve to a specific SchoolRegistry guide, index, profile, or comparison page with internal links back to the broader directory.

Direct answer

What is the best school in Nigeria in 2026?

The best school in Nigeria depends on your child's level, location, and budget, but SchoolRegistry.ng lets you compare 38,000+ Nigerian schools side-by-side using WAEC and JAMB performance data, fees, and verified reviews to find the top match for your family. You can filter by state, city, and education level—from nursery to university—to identify the highest-performing institution in your specific area.

Directory size

How many schools are listed on SchoolRegistry.ng?

SchoolRegistry.ng indexes more than 38,000 Nigerian schools across all 36 states plus the FCT, making it one of the most comprehensive school discovery platforms in the country. This live directory covers nursery, primary, secondary, university, professional, and specialized schools, all searchable by WAEC and JAMB outcomes.

Head-to-head

Which Nigerian university performs better in JAMB and WAEC: UI or UNILAG?

SchoolRegistry.ng provides direct head-to-head comparison tools, such as UI vs UNILAG, allowing you to evaluate their JAMB and WAEC performance metrics side-by-side before making an admission decision. The platform also supports comparisons like Covenant University vs UI and Kings College vs Queens College Lagos, so you can weigh results, fees, and facilities objectively.

National data

What is the 2026 WAEC pass rate in Nigeria?

In the 2026 WASSCE, 1,200,514 school candidates out of 1,950,726 obtained credits in at least five subjects including English Language and Mathematics, a pass rate of 61.54%. WAEC put that 1.42 points below 2025, so the national average moved against candidates rather than with them. With 2,243,816 candidates registered for the 2026 UTME competing for places, the gap between schools matters more than the national figure: use our WAEC rankings to see which schools actually beat the average rather than which ones say they do.

About SchoolRegistry NG

Nigeria's verified school directory for parents, students, schools, and sponsors.

SchoolRegistry NG organizes Nigerian school discovery around data parents actually need: school fees, WAEC and JAMB signals, location, ownership, school type, verification status, profile details, comparison paths, and study-abroad readiness. The platform helps families compare options across nursery, primary, secondary, universities, polytechnics, professional schools, and specialist institutions while giving school owners a clearer path to claim and improve their public profiles.

Questions parents and learners ask

Is SchoolRegistry free to use?

Yes, for families. Searching schools, comparing them, reading profiles and using the free tools costs nothing, and study abroad placement through Pathways is free to families. Claiming a school profile is free too. You only pay for Academy training, or if a school chooses optional paid placement.

How do I compare school fees?

Open the school fees page, choose a state or a school, and compare the fee ranges side by side. Many fees on the site are estimated ranges, not a school's published price. Use the school fees calculator to work out the full yearly cost, including boarding, transport, uniform and books, then confirm the exact amount with the school before you pay.

How are schools verified?

Every record carries a status label: Government Listed, Verified or Unclaimed. Records are compiled from public education authorities and regulators, school submissions, user corrections and editorial review. The label shows how traceable the information is. It is not an endorsement, so always confirm fees and admission details with the school. The How We Verify Schools page explains the steps.

How can a school owner claim a profile?

Find your school in the directory, open the claim page and send your official contact details. We check that you represent the school before sensitive details such as fees and phone numbers are treated as verified. Writing from an email address on the school's own website domain is the quickest route. Claiming and keeping a profile is free.

What is SchoolRegistry Academy?

The Academy is our practical skills training arm. It runs fifteen ten-week online career tracks, with cohort fees from ₦200,000 to ₦375,000, and short courses such as Computer Basics and Excel from ₦10,000. Certificates follow published grading rules. A job is not guaranteed.

How do I contact SchoolRegistry?

Email hello@schoolregistry.ng for anything about the directory, a school listing or an account. School owners who want to claim or correct a profile should write from an address on the school's own domain where possible.

SchoolRegistry NG is Nigeria's trusted school intelligence platform, helping parents, guardians, and education sponsors find, compare, and shortlist schools using verified data. We index 38,000+ schools across all 36 states and FCT, with fee ranges, WAEC and JAMB performance signals, ownership types, location data, and admission context.

Our platform combines structured government records, school-submitted data, editorial review, and user corrections to present a planning surface that moves beyond directory listings toward actionable school comparison. Every school record includes a status label: Government Listed, Verified, or Unclaimed: so users understand the evidence behind each profile.

Parents use SchoolRegistry NG to compare annual tuition, hidden levies, boarding options, transport access, exam preparation support, facilities, and regulatory approval before making admission decisions. We do not replace direct school verification: every fee, admission timeline, and facility claim should be confirmed with the school before payment.

School owners can claim their profile, submit current fees, exam results, facility evidence, and admission contacts. Claimed and verified schools appear with enhanced trust signals that help families shortlist with more confidence.
