Certification practice tests
Free practice questions for twenty professional certifications across IT, accounting and finance, project management and nursing, each written to the published exam syllabus with an explanation after every answer. Start with a ten-question quick test where one is offered, then sit a full timed paper.
CompTIA A+ practice test
A+ is the entry ticket for help desk, field technician and junior support work, and it is also the base the Network+ and Security+ build on. Most people fail the first attempt on question style rather than knowledge, which is exactly what practice fixes.
720 questions, 8 full mock papers · 90 questions in 1 hour 30 minutes per mock
CompTIA Network+ practice test
Network+ is asked for in network technician, NOC and infrastructure support roles, and it is the natural next step after A+. Troubleshooting takes the biggest share of the real exam, so the practice spends the most time there.
360 questions, 4 full mock papers · 90 questions in 1 hour 30 minutes per mock
CompTIA Security+ practice test
It is the baseline certificate for SOC analyst, security administrator and IT support roles with a security remit. The exam is scenario heavy: most questions describe a situation and ask for the best control, which is a skill you build by working through cases, not by memorising definitions.
360 questions, 4 full mock papers · 90 questions in 1 hour 30 minutes per mock
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner practice test
It is the cheapest credible cloud certificate to put on a CV and a common entry point into cloud support, solutions and sales roles. The exam rewards people who understand how AWS bills and secures things, so the practice leans on those two areas.
325 questions, 5 full mock papers · 65 questions in 1 hour 30 minutes per mock
PMI Project Management Professional practice test
Most PMP attempts fail on the situational questions, where two answers are both defensible and the exam wants the one that fits PMI's way of working. Practice is where that judgement is built, and a full 180-question sitting is the only way to test your stamina for a 230-minute paper.
360 questions, 2 full mock papers · 180 questions in 3 hours 50 minutes per mock
Cisco Certified Network Associate practice test
The exam rewards people who can read a topology, a routing table or a configuration and say what happens next. That is a skill built by working through scenarios, which is why every question here comes with the reasoning rather than just a mark.
300 questions, 3 full mock papers · 100 questions in 2 hours per mock
CPA Auditing and Attestation practice test
AUD punishes people who memorise report wording without understanding when each report applies. Working through scenarios where the situation changes by one detail builds the discrimination the exam is testing.
312 questions, 4 full mock papers · 72 questions in 2 hours per mock
CPA Financial Accounting and Reporting practice test
FAR is usually the section people sit first and the one that most rewards repetition. The questions here are written so that a wrong answer teaches the rule, not just the correction.
200 questions, 2 full mock papers · 100 questions in 3 hours per mock
CPA Taxation and Regulation practice test
REG questions are number-heavy and the thresholds move, so the exam tests whether you can apply a rule to a figure rather than recite it. That is exactly what a marked practice question trains.
288 questions, 4 full mock papers · 72 questions in 2 hours per mock
CPA Business Analysis and Reporting practice test
Choosing a discipline is a strategy decision as much as a knowledge one. BAR suits people who like the analytical side of the syllabus, and the fastest way to test that fit is to sit the questions before you commit.
200 questions, 2 full mock papers · 100 questions in 3 hours per mock
CPA Information Systems and Controls practice test
Demand for people who can sit between finance and IT controls is rising, and ISC is the credential that signals it. The questions are written for the judgement the exam tests, not just the definitions.
200 questions, 2 full mock papers · 100 questions in 3 hours per mock
CPA Tax Compliance and Planning practice test
TCP goes beyond compliance into planning, which is where tax work is actually sold. The questions test whether you can spot the planning move in a set of facts, which is the skill a tax role asks for.
200 questions, 2 full mock papers · 100 questions in 3 hours per mock
CMA Part 1 practice test
Part 1 is where the exam asks you to compute and then interpret, and a wrong variance or a misread cost driver costs marks twice. Practice with the working shown is how that gets fixed.
300 questions, 3 full mock papers · 100 questions in 3 hours per mock
CMA Part 2 practice test
Part 2 questions tend to give you a business situation and ask which number or which decision follows. That is a reasoning skill, and it is built by working cases rather than reading chapters.
300 questions, 3 full mock papers · 100 questions in 3 hours per mock
Certified Financial Planner practice test
The CFP is the credential clients recognise, and the exam is case-driven: a fact pattern sets up three or four linked questions. Practising the case format, at real length, is the difference between knowing the material and being able to use it under time.
340 questions, 2 full mock papers · 170 questions in 3 hours per mock
CFA Level II practice test
The vignette format is the whole exam at Level II, and most candidates lose marks to time and to misreading the exhibit rather than to missing knowledge. Practising full item sets is the only realistic preparation.
264 questions, 3 full mock papers · 88 questions in 2 hours 12 minutes per mock
CFA Level III practice test
By Level III the material is familiar; what fails candidates is structured application under time. Working item sets with the reasoning shown is how the judgement gets built.
101 questions, 1 full mock paper · 101 questions in 3 hours per mock
NCLEX-RN practice test
The exam is adaptive and famously asks which action comes first. That is priority judgement, not recall, and it is built by working through scenarios with the rationale attached.
300 questions, 3 full mock papers · 100 questions in 2 hours per mock
NCLEX-PN practice test
The PN exam tests the same priority reasoning as the RN exam, scoped to what an LPN is licensed to do. Practising the delegation and scope questions specifically is what separates a pass from a near miss.
120 questions, 1 full mock paper · 120 questions in 3 hours per mock
Certified Professional Coder practice test
CPC questions are answered with a code book in hand, so the skill being tested is finding and applying the right guideline quickly. Practice by body system is how that speed is built before exam day.
300 questions, 3 full mock papers · 100 questions in 4 hours per mock
How the practice works
- Quick 10
- Ten random questions, no account, marked as you go with a short explanation for each answer. The fastest way to see where you stand.
- Topic practice
- Pick one exam domain — say Network Troubleshooting, or Security Operations — and work through it untimed until the ideas settle.
- Mock paper
- A full paper at the real exam's question count and time, with a score, a breakdown by domain and the questions worth reviewing at the end.
Questions people ask
Are these practice tests free?
The ten-question quick test is free and needs no account. Topic practice and the full mock papers need a free SchoolRegistry Academy account, which saves your scores so you can see which areas still need work.
Are these official exam questions?
No, and no site has official ones: none of the bodies behind these certifications publishes live exam questions. Every question here is written to the published syllabus for that certification, in the style and depth the exam uses.
Which certification should I start with?
In IT, start with A+ if you are new, Network+ if you already work with networks, and Security+ after either. In accounting and finance, CPA and CMA candidates usually start with the section closest to their day job. In nursing, sit NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN practice last, once content revision is done, because it tests judgement rather than recall.
Can I practise on a phone?
Yes. The papers, the timer and question navigation are built for a phone first, and a session survives a dropped connection: answers are kept on the device and sent when you are back online.
Where do I sit the real exams?
Most of these exams are booked through Pearson VUE and can be taken at a test centre or online with a proctor. CFA Institute, IMA, AAPC and CFP Board run their own booking portals, and NCLEX is booked through Pearson VUE on behalf of the state board you apply to.
Do the mock papers use the real exam format?
Where the exam has a public format, the paper follows it: 90 questions in 90 minutes for the CompTIA papers, 170 questions in 180 minutes for CFP, 180 in 230 for PMP. Where the body keeps its format private, the paper is a practice paper at that length rather than a replica, and the page states which. Marking and an explanation for every question come when you finish.
