PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE · 10 WEEKS

Own the outcome.

Project Manager Certificate

A ten-week certificate course in project management, taught from the manager's chair at Fennelwood Digital, a fictional thirty-eight person agency, and Ironvale Projects, a Lagos fit-out contractor whose client pays late. The senior manager leaves and you inherit his projects mid-flight, including one sold at a fixed price before anyone scoped it and one that will close at nine percent margin against twenty-eight planned. You scope, estimate and defend a number; build a schedule and shorten it two different ways with both costs named; level one designer across three projects; price changes against a written delegation that says what you may approve alone; choose between a project that is profitable and late and one that is on time and losing money; and tell a client their launch will miss, with options and a recommendation. Every decision you make is written down with its reasoning, because that is what the course grades.

THE SKILL BEHIND THE OPPORTUNITY

Don’t just know what to say.
Know what to do next.

A ten-week certificate course in project management taught from the manager's chair inside Fennelwood Digital, a fictional thirty-eight person agency with eleven live projects, and Ironvale Projects, a Lagos fit-out contractor. The student inherits four projects mid-flight when the senior manager leaves, then scopes and estimates a project that was sold at a fixed price before scoping, builds and compresses a schedule with costs named, levels one designer across three projects, works in margin, burn and forecast at completion, prices change orders against a written delegation of authority, chooses between a project that is profitable and late and one that is on time and losing money, delivers a missed launch to the client with options and a recommendation, and closes a project commercially. Two weeks of practicum run the full portfolio, and every decision is marked on the trade-off named, the evidence used, the people consulted and the written reasoning. The course follows the PMP exam outline and states plainly that finishing it does not meet PMI's experience requirement. It names no vendor credential and does not promise employment, income or placement.

THE LIMIT

The client wants this approved today. It is only four thousand.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Approve it, because it is inside the ten thousand dollar line that is yours alone, and log the reason.

A manager who does not know their own limits is the dangerous kind. Splitting one change into two to stay under it ends a career.

THE FIXED PRICE

Mesa Verde is signed at a fixed price. Nobody scoped it first.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Scope it, estimate it two ways, and take three options to the head of delivery with a recommendation.

You cannot fix a price that was set before the scope. You can name the trade-off and let the right people choose.

THE TRADE-OFF

One is at thirty percent margin and four weeks late. One is on schedule and forecast to lose money.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Decide, write the reasoning a successor could read, and say plainly what you gave up.

Every scenario here has more than one defensible answer. The mark is the reasoning, not the option.

THE MISS

The client has already announced the date. The coordinator reported the slip; the decision is yours.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

You never commit a client date the plan does not support, and you never let them hear it from someone else.

WHY THIS ACADEMY IS DIFFERENT

You do the job before you get the job.

Most courses in Nigeria teach you about a job. SchoolRegistry Academy makes you do it, inside a company built for your track, with your own work inbox, timed practicum shifts and marked work, until you have evidence an employer can check. On this track the company is Fennelwood Digital and Ironvale Projects, a fictional thirty-eight person digital agency and a Lagos fit-out contractor whose client pays late. You scope, estimate and defend the number, protect the margin, and tell a client their launch will miss, with options.

01

You do the job before you get the job.

Every track trains inside a made-up company that behaves like a real one: real requests, real customers, real deadlines, real consequences. You are not watching someone else work; you are doing the work.

02

Real tools, not slides about tools.

You work in the software the job actually uses, and a tools library inside your handbook holds the tutorials we checked ourselves.

03

Your own work email from day one.

Every student gets a real inbox on students.schoolregistry.ng. Mail from your fictional workplace arrives there, including the ones that are traps, so you learn to handle a workday inbox before an employer hands you one.

04

Two weeks of timed practicum shifts.

After eight weeks of lessons you work timed shifts on your simulator, graded the way an employer would grade you. Some mistakes fail the shift outright, the same mistakes that get people fired.

05

Your work is marked, with feedback you can act on.

Assignments are reviewed, returned with comments, and you resubmit until it is right. Certificates are only issued under the published rules: the required work done, tuition covered, an 80 percent overall result.

06

A community that keeps going after the course.

The Commons gives you rooms for your cohort, mentoring pairs, alumni opportunities and events. The Getting Hired course is included with every track. No job is promised; the evidence you leave with is real.

How the Academy teaches, in full ↗

DIRECT ANSWER

What will you learn in project manager training?

SchoolRegistry Academy’s Project Manager course is a ten-week online programme for people moving from coordinating work to owning the outcome. Classes are live on West Africa Time, and a self-paced version starts any day. First, students learn what changes when the outcome is theirs: the written delegation of authority that says which change they may approve alone, scoping work that was sold before it was scoped, bottom-up and analogous estimating, reasoned contingency, and the difference between burn and the margin a manager is measured on. Second, students practise building and compressing a schedule with the cost of each option named, levelling one designer across three competing projects, pricing change orders at the right level, choosing between a project that is profitable and late and one that is on time and losing money, delivering a missed launch to the client with options and a recommendation, and holding a performance conversation that is not a report, inside a fictional digital agency with eleven live projects and a Lagos fit-out contractor. Third, graded practice tasks, a two-week practicum running the full portfolio and a portfolio of written decisions create evidence of applied management judgment, marked on the trade-off named and the reasoning recorded rather than on choosing a preferred answer. The course follows the PMI PMP exam outline and states plainly that finishing it does not meet PMI’s experience requirement; PMI awards the PMP itself and its exam fee is separate. The programme develops demonstrable project management skills; it does not promise employment, income or the PMP credential.

01WEEK 1The seat+

What changes when the outcome is yours; the handover you inherit mid-flight and what is wrong with it; the delegation of authority in dollars; splitting a change to stay under your limit, named as a career-ender; your coordinator, your manager, and the leads from the other chair; the Lagos and US lanes.

  • What changes on the day the outcome is yours
  • The delegation of authority: what you approve alone, what Nadia approves, what the client signs
  • Splitting one change into two to stay under your limit, and why that ends a career
  • What a Lagos project manager owns on a fit-out, and what Babajide keeps [NG]
02WEEK 2Scoping and estimating+

Turning a proposal into a plan that can be delivered; a fixed price signed before scoping; bottom-up and analogous estimates, and what to do when they disagree; contingency that is reasoned; the single number a client will hold you to; bill rate, cost rate and margin; burn is not margin.

  • Wesley sells before scoping: Mesa Verde signed at a fixed price
  • Bottom up: estimating from work packages and known team speeds
  • Contingency that is reasoned, not ten percent because it is always ten percent
  • Bill rate, cost rate and margin: the number a manager is actually measured on
03WEEK 3The plan you own+

Building a schedule rather than updating one; durations from estimates and named people; the critical path as a place to spend money; fast tracking against crashing with both costs named; float as a budget; levelling one designer across three projects; re-baselining honestly, and the paper Nadia needs.

  • The critical path as a decision tool, not a field on a report
  • Fast tracking and crashing: what each costs and what each risks
  • Ren is booked on three projects in the same fortnight: what levelling does to your dates
  • When a re-baseline is honest and when it is hiding a slip
04WEEK 4People+

Assigning work to named people with known speeds; commitment rather than allocation; why loading someone to a hundred percent never works; the developer who has missed three committed dates; the private conversation with no audience and no report; feedback about the work with the evidence attached; costing three hire options.

  • A developer has missed three committed dates: what you do before the standup
  • The private conversation: the dates in front of you, no audience, no report
  • Three options costed: agency, freelance, and moving somebody off another project
  • The cheapest option spends another manager's schedule: how that decision gets made
05WEEK 5Money+

Margin, burn and forecast at completion; reading the finance sheet as a manager; a project that closed at nine percent against twenty-eight planned; pricing a change order; the change a client expects to be free; profitable and late against on time and losing money; vendors, advances and tranches.

  • Bramblewood closed at nine percent against twenty-eight planned: where the hours went
  • Pricing a change order: hours, rate, risk, and what the client is actually asking for
  • Profitable and late against on time and losing money: which is the emergency
  • Vendor payment realities at Ironvale: advances, tranches and the record you keep [NG]
06WEEK 6The client+

Scope against date against cost, and finding out which one is real; options with a recommendation; saying no and keeping the account; why managers over-promise; a renewal with a slip in its history and a fifteen percent discount ask; the line between managing a client and selling to one; recovering a relationship after a miss.

  • The three things a client wants and the one they will actually choose
  • What you never do: agree a discount on a signed contract without the account director
  • What belongs to Wesley: the line between managing a client and selling to one
  • The apology that is a plan, and the apology that is only an apology
07WEEK 7When it goes wrong and it is yours+

The build that will miss by three weeks, costed three ways and delivered by you; a person who is failing after feedback has not worked; the vendor who stops answering with a migration window eleven days out; an architecture disagreement that is your call; client data when you are the one who can authorise access.

  • The build will miss by three weeks: the Coordinator reported it, you decide it
  • Overtime, descope, or move the date: three options costed honestly
  • Two engineers disagree on architecture and the decision is yours to make
  • Why some work stays on-shore: the client NDA and SOC 2, named as reasons [US-D]
08WEEK 8Closing and the ladder+

Commercial close, final invoice and final margin; handover and warranty; lessons that change the next project; the manager's portfolio of decisions and what happened next; the PMP outline and the experience requirement stated plainly; the Lagos and US markets honestly; what a programme manager and a delivery lead do.

  • Commercial close: final invoice, final margin, and what the contract says about both
  • The manager's portfolio: decisions, their reasoning, and what happened next
  • The experience requirement, plainly: what it is and why finishing this course does not meet it
  • The Lagos market for project managers, honestly: who hires and what they ask [NG]

The Project Management Professional is the credential hiring managers recognise for a manager's seat. This course follows its exam outline lesson by lesson and ends with a timed practice exam that reports your score by domain, so you can see where you actually are.

PMI awards it, not us, and the exam fee is theirs and separate. The PMP also has an experience requirement that PMI verifies, and no course meets it for you, including this one. BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Good questions.
Straight answers.

How is this different from the Project Coordinator course?+

The Coordinator prepares and never decides: the board, the logs, the status report, the reconciliation. The Manager carries the outcome. You set the estimate rather than track it, you price the change rather than raise it, you approve inside a written delegation, and you take the margin and the client conversation. The story continues too: the Coordinator course runs to week twenty-six, and this one starts when the senior manager leaves and you inherit his projects. You do not need the Coordinator course first, but if you did it, this is the same agency and the same projects from the other chair.

Do I need to be a project manager already?+

No, and the course assumes you are not. It starts on the day the outcome becomes yours and teaches the authority question first, because a manager who does not know their own limits is the dangerous kind. If you have coordinated, organised or run anything where other people's work depended on your plan, you have the ground this builds on.

Does this make me PMP eligible?+

No, and the course says so in its own lessons. The PMP has an experience requirement that PMI verifies, and finishing a course does not meet it. What this does is cover the exam outline lesson by lesson and end with forty timed questions that report your score by domain, so you know where you stand before you commit to anything. PMI awards the PMP, not us, and its fee is separate.

Is there any real software, or is it all video?+

You build and change schedules in the twin, on the same projects the lessons are discussing, so you are operating a scheduling tool rather than watching one. For the construction, engineering and oil and gas lane there is a Primavera P6 add-on that takes the Fennelwood and Ironvale schedules into P6. It is optional and sold separately, because most agency managers never touch P6 and we would rather not charge everyone for it.

What happens in the last two weeks?+

Weeks nine and ten are the practicum, and you run the full eleven-project portfolio with work arriving at realistic rates: the estimates, the change pricing, the levelling, the client conversations, the hire, the miss delivered to the client, the failing team member, the vendor escalation and the architecture call. Every scenario has more than one defensible answer. The mark is not whether you chose the option we prefer. It is whether you named the trade-off, used the evidence you had, consulted the people whose call it partly was, and wrote it down so a successor can see why.

Can I do this alongside a job?+

It is built for that. Lessons are recorded and quiz-gated so you move at your own pace through the week, with one live class. There is also a self-paced version with no fixed dates that you can start any day.

When does the cohort begin?+

October 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM WAT (Nigeria). Each track has one live class a week; the day is confirmed in your enrollment information.

Is a job guaranteed?+

No. The Academy develops and assesses skills. Employment depends on your performance, employer requirements, and available roles.

Can I start now instead of waiting for the cohort?+

Yes. The self-paced tier opens the day you pay, has no cohort dates, and is coached and graded online with 12 months of access. It costs ₦300,000 for standard tracks and ₦375,000 for premium tracks, and scholarships do not apply to it. The certificate rules are identical.

What does the fee include?+

₦375,000 covers this track. You can pay in full or in two ₦187,500 installments, with the balance due three weeks later. Review the handbook and checkout terms before paying.
