PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE · 10 WEEKS

Keep the plan true.
Tell it straight.

Project Coordinator Certificate

A ten-week certificate course in project coordination, taught inside Fennelwood Digital, a fictional thirty-eight person agency in Austin with eleven live projects, and Ironvale Projects, a Lagos fit-out contractor with three sites and a client who pays late. You coordinate four projects for eight weeks: an e-commerce rebuild, a patient portal, a brand and website, and a coffee retainer. You run the stand-up, keep the board true, find the two-week slip nobody mentioned, raise the change request, reconcile the hours against finance, and write the Friday report your manager is graded on. The course follows the CAPM exam outline, and a scheduling add-on takes you into Primavera P6 on the same projects.

THE SKILL BEHIND THE OPPORTUNITY

Don’t just know what to say.
Know what to do next.

A ten-week online certificate course in project coordination, taught inside a fictional digital agency with eleven live projects and a Lagos fit-out contractor. Covers the work breakdown structure, scheduling and critical path, board discipline, RAID logs, change control, decision logs, budget burn and forecast, status reporting, escalation and project close, following the PMI CAPM exam outline. Includes 128 quiz-gated video lessons, graded practice tasks and a two-week practicum.

THE MONDAY

Six people need something, and two of them need a decision.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Sort them: yours to do, the manager’s to decide, and the ones that are neither.

A coordinator coordinates and does not decide. Knowing which is which is most of the job.

02The plan and the work stop matching.Find a slip on the board, in the schedule and in the hours.

THE SLIP

Backend says they are on track. The hours say they burned three weeks in two.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Check all three, write up what you found, and take it to the manager.

You find a slip by reconciling, not by asking whether everything is fine.

03Someone asks you to approve it.Practise the refusal that keeps the relationship and the record.

THE REQUEST

Nadia is away. Can you just approve this change so we can start?

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Decline politely, raise it as a written change request, and route it to the person who can decide.

The refusal is part of the job, and it is easier when you have a script and a log.

04Friday, and the report is due.Write the status a manager reads in thirty seconds.

THE REPORT

The project is amber. It has been reported green for two weeks.

WHY THIS ACADEMY IS DIFFERENT

You do the job before you get the job.

Most courses in Nigeria teach you about a job. SchoolRegistry Academy makes you do it, inside a company built for your track, with your own work inbox, timed practicum shifts and marked work, until you have evidence an employer can check. On this track the company is a fictional workplace built for this track, a company that behaves like a real one. You do the actual work of the job before you apply for it.

01

You do the job before you get the job.

Every track trains inside a made-up company that behaves like a real one: real requests, real customers, real deadlines, real consequences. You are not watching someone else work; you are doing the work.

02

Real tools, not slides about tools.

You work in the software the job actually uses, and a tools library inside your handbook holds the tutorials we checked ourselves.

03

Your own work email from day one.

Every student gets a real inbox on students.schoolregistry.ng. Mail from your fictional workplace arrives there, including the ones that are traps, so you learn to handle a workday inbox before an employer hands you one.

04

Two weeks of timed practicum shifts.

After eight weeks of lessons you work timed shifts on your simulator, graded the way an employer would grade you. Some mistakes fail the shift outright, the same mistakes that get people fired.

05

Your work is marked, with feedback you can act on.

Assignments are reviewed, returned with comments, and you resubmit until it is right. Certificates are only issued under the published rules: the required work done, tuition covered, an 80 percent overall result.

06

A community that keeps going after the course.

The Commons gives you rooms for your cohort, mentoring pairs, alumni opportunities and events. The Getting Hired course is included with every track. No job is promised; the evidence you leave with is real.

DIRECT ANSWER

What will you learn in project coordinator training?

SchoolRegistry Academy’s Project Coordinator course is a ten-week online programme for beginners and career changers in Nigeria. First, students learn the charter, scope, the work breakdown structure, scheduling, the critical path and float, and how to keep a board true. Second, students practise the RAID log, change requests, the decision log, budget burn and forecast, reconciling hours before reporting, status reports with the reason beside the colour, escalation and project close, inside a fictional digital agency with eleven live projects and a Lagos fit-out contractor. Third, graded practice tasks, a two-week practicum and a portfolio of reports and logs create evidence of applied coordination judgment. The course follows the PMI CAPM exam outline and ends with a timed practice exam scored by domain; PMI awards the CAPM itself and its exam fee is separate. The programme develops demonstrable project coordination skills; it does not promise employment, income or the CAPM credential.

AI study support

Ask academic questions in the lesson player. The assistant uses lesson context but does not answer assignments or grade your work.

Manage personal work and participate in assigned team tasks with columns, dependencies, comments and history.

03 / IMPROVE

01WEEK 1What a coordinator does, and for whom+

The agency and its eleven projects; the team and what each person needs from you; the line between coordinating and deciding; the tools of the desk; the four projects on your seat; the Lagos and US lanes.

  • What a project coordinator does all day, and for whom
  • The coordinator's line: coordinate, never decide; make the plan true and the people informed
  • Reading a project file: charter, scope, plan, budget, contacts, and what is missing
  • Where Lagos coordinators work: fit-out contractors, telco rollouts, NGO programmes and bank projects [NG]
02WEEK 2The plan behind the work+

Projects, programmes and retainers; the charter and what was promised; scope in and out; the work breakdown structure; milestones and dependencies; the schedule as a network; the baseline; stakeholders.

  • The charter: what was promised, to whom, for how much, by when
  • The work breakdown structure: phases, deliverables and the work packages under them
  • The schedule is a network, not a list: predecessors, successors and the path that cannot slip
  • Stakeholders: who cares, who can stop you, and who needs to hear first
03WEEK 3The board, the schedule and the slip+

From the WBS to a board with owners and a definition of done; sprints and the retainer cycle; the schedule in the twin; the critical path and float; the two-week slip found three ways; re-planning with the manager; the same board in five tools.

  • Opening a Fennelwood schedule in the twin: activities, relationships, the calendar
  • Float: how much a task can slip before the end date moves
  • The two-week slip nobody mentioned: how you find it on the board, the schedule and the hours
  • Jira, Asana, Monday, ClickUp and Smartsheet: the same board with different words
04WEEK 4Running the week, and writing it down+

The stand-up and minutes someone can act on; chasing without nagging; the Friday status report and its rubric; green, amber and red with the reason; the client update; async updates across time zones; the escalation message; bad news early.

  • Minutes someone can act on: decisions, actions, owners, dates
  • The Friday status report: the rubric Nadia grades against
  • Green, amber, red: the rule, and the reason that always goes with the colour
  • Bad news early: the message Nadia would rather get on Tuesday than Friday
05WEEK 5Risk, change and the decision log+

RAID: what goes in each column, and the risk that became an issue; scope creep from a call to the budget; the change request, costed by the manager and decided by a named person; the change-order log; the decision log that settles an argument.

  • A risk has an owner, a trigger and a response; an issue has a date and an owner
  • Scope creep: how it starts on a call and ends in the budget
  • The change request: written, costed by the manager, decided by the named person, never by you
  • When two people remember a decision differently: the log settles it
06WEEK 6Money, and the report that tells the truth+

The budget, burn and forecast; the finance sheet where the truth about hours lives; the report that says green while the hours say red; reconciling before reporting; purchase orders and invoices; what a coordinator may approve, and the refusal script for what they may not.

  • Burn and forecast: spend to date, plan to date, and what the end looks like from here
  • The report that says green while the hours say red: how it happens
  • Purchase orders and invoices: what a coordinator checks and what a coordinator never approves
  • The refusal script, and routing the request to the person who can decide
07WEEK 7When it goes wrong+

The shared drive down on report morning and the drill in order; a build that will miss by three weeks after the client announced the date; what you never promise; client data and who decides where it goes; the post-mortem that blames process, not people.

  • Communicate, deliver the last dated snapshot, document: the drill in order
  • Bad news reported as it is: to Nadia and Tobias first, with reasons and options
  • Client data on a project: what stays inside, what may leave, and who decides
  • The post-mortem that blames process, not people
08WEEK 8The file, the CAPM and what comes next+

A clean project file and a handover someone can pick up on Monday; the portfolio of reports, logs and a post-mortem; the CAPM outline and a timed practice exam with a domain readout; the Lagos and US markets honestly; interview answers from your own work; the practicum brief.

  • The handover: leaving a project someone else can pick up on Monday
  • The CAPM: what PMI asks for, what the exam covers, and what the Academy certificate proves
  • The practice exam: how it works and how to read your score by domain
  • Interview questions answered with your own reports

MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE

Is this your
next step?

A good fit if you…

  • You are the person who notices that two people remember the same decision differently, and you want it written down somewhere both can read.
  • You can chase without nagging, and you would rather send bad news on Tuesday than a comfortable report on Friday.
  • You like the plan matching the work. A board nobody has updated in a week bothers you.

Plan for the practicalities.

A computer, headset, reliable internet, and a quiet place to practice will help you participate. Check the live-session schedule before enrolling.

Future US-client work may involve afternoon or evening hours in Nigeria.

AFTER THE CERTIFICATE

The CAPM, from PMI

The Certified Associate in Project Management is PMI's entry-level credential, and it is the one recruiters recognise for a coordinator seat. This course follows its exam outline lesson by lesson and ends with a timed practice exam that reports your score by domain, so you can see where you are before you book anything.

PMI awards it, not us. The exam fee is theirs and separate, and PMI's contact-hours requirement is your own record to keep. We are not a PMI Authorized Training Partner and do not claim the hours on your behalf.

The Academy certificate proves the work you did here. The CAPM is a separate exam you sit with PMI.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Is this the same as a project manager course?+

No, and the difference is the point. A coordinator keeps the plan true and the people informed; a manager decides, prices change, and signs things off. This course teaches the coordinator's seat honestly, including the requests you must refuse and route to someone else. The Project Manager course continues from here.

Do I get the CAPM at the end?+

No. The course follows PMI's CAPM exam outline lesson by lesson and ends with a timed practice exam that scores you by domain, and the Academy certificate proves the work you did here. PMI awards the CAPM itself, the exam fee is theirs and separate, and PMI's contact-hours requirement is your own record to keep. We are not a PMI Authorized Training Partner and do not claim to be.

Do I need experience or a degree?+

No. The course starts at your first Monday on the desk and assumes nothing. What it does assume is that you will do the work every week: the practice tasks are marked, and the practicum is graded against the same rubric the reports are.

What is the P6 add-on, and do I need it?+

Most agency and software coordinators never touch Primavera P6. If you want the construction, engineering or oil and gas lane in Nigeria, where P6 is common, the add-on takes the same Fennelwood and Ironvale schedules into P6 so you learn it on plans you already understand. It is optional and sold separately.

Is this only for remote work abroad?+

No. Two lanes run through the course. The Lagos lane is fit-out contractors, telco rollouts, NGO programmes and bank projects, taught on Ironvale's sites with the realities of advances, receipts and a client who pays late. The US lane is agency and SaaS coordination for people who already hold work authorisation.

When does the cohort begin?+

October 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM WAT (Nigeria). Each track has one live class a week; the day is confirmed in your enrollment information.

Is a job guaranteed?+

No. The Academy develops and assesses skills. Employment depends on your performance, employer requirements, and available roles.

Can I start now instead of waiting for the cohort?+

Yes. The self-paced tier opens the day you pay, has no cohort dates, and is coached and graded online with 12 months of access. It costs ₦300,000 for standard tracks and ₦375,000 for premium tracks, and scholarships do not apply to it. The certificate rules are identical.

What does the fee include?+

₦200,000 covers this track. You can pay in full or in two ₦100,000 installments, with the balance due three weeks later. Review the handbook and checkout terms before paying.
