What is JAMB Change of Institution?

JAMB change of institution (also called change of course) allows UTME and Direct Entry candidates to switch their first-choice institution, course, or both after the JAMB exam. It is a correction service provided by JAMB for candidates who want to improve their admission chances or change their academic direction.

This is different from JAMB data correction (name, date of birth, state of origin) — change of institution specifically moves your application from one school/course to another.

What to Do After Your Change is Processed

  1. Check your JAMB CAPS portal to confirm the change is reflected under "My Choices".
  2. Visit the new institution's website and register for their Post-UTME screening immediately.
  3. Track the Post-UTME deadline — missing it means you lose the admission chance regardless of your JAMB score.
  4. Monitor your admission status on CAPS — accept the offer promptly if admitted.
