What is the National Common Entrance Examination?

The National Common Entrance Examination, commonly called NCEE or "common entrance", is the exam Nigerian students in Primary 5 or 6 sit to gain admission into Federal Government Unity Colleges. It is administered by the National Examinations Council (NECO) every year.

NCEE is for students transitioning from primary to secondary school — not the same as NECO BECE (JSS3) or NECO SSCE (SS3). Passing NCEE is the primary route into Nigeria's 100+ Federal Unity Colleges.
