CMA Part 1 practice test

CMA Part 1 is the management accounting half of the certificate: external reporting decisions, planning and budgeting, performance management, cost management, internal controls and analytics. The questions here follow those six content areas.

300 practice questions, 3 full mock papers, each 100 questions in 3 hours. Topic practice breaks the same bank down by exam domain, and the quick test gives you ten random questions with no account.

Every question is written to the IMA CMA Part 1 syllabus. These are practice questions in the style of the exam, not official past questions, and SchoolRegistry is not connected to Institute of Management Accountants.

Questions people ask

How many questions are in the CMA Part 1 papers?

Three multiple-choice mock papers of 100 questions, plus domain practice and a free ten-question quick test, each explained on marking.

Does this include the essay section?

No. The practice is multiple-choice only. The real CMA exam adds written response questions after the multiple-choice section, so use these papers for the knowledge the essays draw on.

Should I sit Part 1 or Part 2 first?

Either order works. Part 1 suits people whose work touches budgeting and cost accounting; Part 2 is more financial analysis and decision making. Sit the one closer to your day job first.

Is the practice free?

The quick test is free with no account. Domain practice and the mock papers need a free Academy account, which saves your scores by area.
