CPA BAR practice test

BAR is one of the three CPA disciplines you choose from after the three core sections. It leans on analysis rather than preparation: ratios and forecasts, the harder technical accounting areas, and government reporting. Questions here follow its three content areas.

200 practice questions, 2 full mock papers, each 100 questions in 3 hours. Topic practice breaks the same bank down by exam domain, and the quick test gives you ten random questions with no account.

Every question is written to the AICPA CPA Exam — BAR discipline syllabus. These are practice questions in the style of the exam, not official past questions, and SchoolRegistry is not connected to AICPA.

What the questions cover

BAR — Business Analysis and Reporting
The CPA BAR questions cover business analysis, technical accounting and reporting, and state and local governments, weighted the way the real exam weights them.

Questions people ask

What is the BAR discipline?

Under the CPA Evolution structure, candidates sit three core sections (AUD, FAR, REG) and then choose one of three disciplines: BAR, ISC or TCP. BAR is the analysis and reporting option.

How many questions are in the BAR papers?

Two multiple-choice mock papers of 100 questions, plus domain practice and a free ten-question quick test, each with explanations on marking.

Does BAR include government accounting?

Yes. State and local government reporting is one of its three content areas, which is part of what distinguishes BAR from FAR.

Is the practice free?

The quick test is free and needs no account. Domain practice and the mocks need a free Academy account, which saves your scores.
