Edit a PDF: add text, boxes and shapes

Choose a PDF, tap where you want to add something, and download the new copy. You can type text, cover a spot with a white box, or draw a simple shape.

Your file stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Step 1: Choose your PDF

Or drop a PDF here. Up to 25 MB.

Good to know

  • You add to the page. You cannot change the words that are already in the PDF.
  • A white box only covers what is under it. The hidden text is still inside the file, so do not use it to hide private details you plan to share.
  • Added text uses a plain built-in font. A few symbols, such as the naira sign, are written as N.
  • Files up to 25 MB.

How to edit a PDF

  1. Choose your PDF.
  2. Pick a tool, then tap or drag on the page. Move things by dragging them.
  3. Download your edited PDF.

Your file stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded. The tool runs inside your browser, so it is safe to use with private papers.

Questions people ask

Is my file uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and changed on your own device. Nothing leaves it.

Can I change the words that are already in the PDF?

Not directly. You can cover old text with a white box and type new text on top. That works well for a wrong date or a small mistake.

Is a white box a safe way to hide private information?

No. It hides the text from view, but the text is still in the file and can be copied out. If you must remove something for good, ask for a clean copy from the person who made the file.

Will the added text look the same in every PDF app?

Yes. The text is written into the page, so it looks the same everywhere. It uses a plain font, not your phone's fonts.

Can I undo a mistake?

Tap the thing you added, then choose Delete. Nothing is saved until you download.
