Federal colleges of education in Nigeria: all 23, with NCE fees where they are published
The National Certificate in Education is the minimum qualification for teaching in Nigeria, and the federal colleges of education are the cheapest recognised route to it: three years, admission through JAMB with a low cut-off, and fees that at most colleges are under ₦60,000 a session. Several of the older colleges (Zaria, Kano, Kontagora, Pankshin, Ondo) have been upgraded to federal universities of education and now run degrees alongside the NCE.
This page lists all of them with the NCE fee where a named source publishes one. The colleges publish less than universities do, so several rows say 'not published'; the ones that publish are the ones to use as a benchmark for the rest. There is no ranking by results: colleges of education do not publish comparable outcome data, and we will not print a figure we cannot source.

How admission works
Candidates sit JAMB's UTME and choose the college; the general cut-off for colleges of education is low, around 100, and each college screens its candidates afterwards. Direct entry into the affiliated degree programmes takes NCE holders. Five O-level credits including English and Mathematics are required for most NCE programmes, with the subject combination set by the department.
NCE or a degree in education
The NCE takes three years and qualifies its holder to teach at basic education level; a B.Ed or B.Sc (Ed) takes four and opens the senior secondary classroom and the graduate salary scale. The upgraded federal universities of education, and the degree programmes the colleges run in affiliation with universities, let a student take the NCE and top up on the same campus. Fees for the degree track are roughly double the NCE at most colleges on the sources here.

On the sources linked, most NCE programmes cost ₦25,000 to ₦60,000 a session, with Okene and Pankshin above ₦100,000 and Obudu from ₦20,000 for some courses. Degree-affiliated programmes cost more, and acceptance and departmental charges are on top.
Which federal colleges of education are now universities?
Zaria, Kano (now Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education), Kontagora, Pankshin and Adeyemi at Ondo have been upgraded to federal universities of education; they still run the NCE.
What is the JAMB cut-off for colleges of education?

Can I teach with only an NCE?
