Why we do not promise you a job
Every week someone asks us to guarantee employment, usually because a competitor already has. We will not, and we would rather explain why than let you find out later.
Nobody can honestly make that promise
Whether you get hired depends on how many roles exist when you finish, how many other people apply, what an employer decides on a particular morning, and how you perform in a room we are not in. A training provider controls none of that. Anyone promising it is either not thinking about what the words mean, or knows exactly what they mean and is saying them anyway.
The promises tend to come with quiet escape routes: a guarantee that applies only if you complete a checklist nobody completes, a placement that turns out to be a list of adverts you could have found, a refund that requires proof you cannot produce. The promise was never the product.
What we promise instead
We teach the actual work.
Not a tour of a subject. The tasks of the job, in the tools of the job.
We assess you honestly.
A person marks your work and tells you what is wrong with it. You can fail, and being told you passed when you did not would be the least useful thing we could do.
We give you something checkable.
A certificate an employer can verify independently, and work you can show.
We tell you the truth about the market.
Including when a track is a poor fit for you, and when you should not pay us at all.
We also do not quote earnings
You will not find a figure on this site telling you what you will earn. Where we mention money at all, it is from a named, dated source you can open yourself, and it is never presented as what our students make. We would rather you read ten live job adverts and form your own view than take a number from the people asking you for money.
How to check anyone who does promise you work
Including us. Ask these four questions and read the answers carefully.
- Show me the guarantee in writing, with the conditions. If the conditions arrive only after payment, that is the answer.
- How many people finished the last cohort, and how many are working now? A provider who counts outcomes can tell you. One who cannot, does not count them.
- Who are the employers, and can I contact one? A placement partner who cannot be named usually does not exist.
- What happens to my money if I am not hired? Get the refund conditions before you pay, not after.
On our own answers: we are a young programme, our first cohort has not finished, and we therefore have no outcome numbers to show you. When we have them we will publish them, including the bad ones. Until then, judge us on the free course and the sample lessons, which cost you nothing to inspect.
