Virtual Medical Administrative Support Certificate

A ten-week specialist track for remote medical administrative work: patient messages and scheduling, insurance eligibility, prior authorization packets, referrals and records requests, claim status calls and payment routing. Every lesson follows the clinic's job aid, every patient is fictional, and the privacy discipline is graded with zero tolerance.

Start: October 12, 2026 · 11 AM WAT (Nigeria).
Fee: ₦200,000 for this track, or two ₦100,000 installments with the balance due three weeks later.
Format: Ten weeks: eight of lessons, assignments and one live class a week, then two practicum weeks of timed shifts on the track's job simulator. Your track’s live-session day and time are confirmed at enrolment.

What you will learn

Your curriculum

Week 1: Academy Foundation and the healthcare primer

Remote work with a US client, written and spoken communication, US time zones from Nigeria, workstation readiness; then the mandatory primer: the words of US healthcare, two identifiers before any disclosure, minimum necessary, approved channels.

Week 2: Remote medical front desk and patient communication

Role and boundaries, two-identifier verification, third-party authority as a separate gate, reading a patient inbox for urgency, scope and tone.

Week 3: Scheduling and conflict resolution

What the remote scheduler controls, reading a provider template without interpreting clinical rules, verification before any change, rebuilding a provider's day after a sick call.

Week 4: Insurance eligibility and benefits verification

What eligibility verification is and is not, the eight fields on the form, minimum necessary on a payer call, reading payer responses.

Week 5: Prior authorization administration

What prior authorization is and is not, reading the payer's requirements without guessing, the clinic-approved document set, assembling a clean packet, the five-item tracker.

Week 6: Referrals, records requests and NorthChart

Referral basics, authorisation checks before any release, NorthChart navigation with role-based access and the audit trail, closing the loop with the specialist.

Week 7: Privacy decisions, escalation, claims and balances

Privacy decisions at the remote front desk, what to escalate and how fast, the misdirected message; then claim status calls, the handoff note to the biller, and the balance conversations you may and may not have.

Week 8: Integrated fictional clinic work simulation

The Northgate workday: scope, sequence and the seven privacy gates; routing clinical messages and the angry caller; scheduling conflicts; the full day, end to end.

Week 9: Practicum, part one

Three timed shifts on NorthChart: a Monday morning, records, payers and a fax gone wrong, the afternoon queue; then a live role play with a peer.

Week 10: Practicum, part two

A downtime drill, a full morning, the capstone shift, a live role play with a tutor and the final assessment. Passing needs zero critical errors on the seven privacy gates.

Prepare to participate

Plan for a computer, headset, reliable internet, a quiet practice space, and time for assignments. Review the student handbook for assessment, access, and policy details before payment.

Certification
